Clermont Ferrand departure of Sun Trip Tour 2017: FRANCE 3 interview On the way to Le Puy en Velay On the way to Le Puy en Velay....before the thunderstorm! Le Puy en Velay First day in the Sun Trip....and first big problem with my front tire! But with the help of Stéphane I was able to make a first fix (the new tire I bought was not the good size!) First article in the local press! Official start from Le Puy en Velay with all the authorities! Market place to have a nice lunch with all the other guys...while batteries get recharged! Going up, on the way in the Gorges....to Lans en Vercore Lans en Vercore, official arrival in the main square of the village My front tire was dead....here you can see that the repair we made avoided the worst! Luckily I found a tire 'almost of the right size' (1 inch ,1) Going down to Grenoble...and preparing for the first real mountain pass of the Sun Trip! After a really tough climb, with several sections at 12%, I reached the Col de la Croix at 2062 m. of altitude ! Nice stop at lunch time with several participants...to get some rest before the next climb! Catching the last sun ...to be ready for the tough climb of tomorrow! Few moment of rest....before the last few km to the Col de l'Iseran! On the Col de l'Iseran, 2770 m. with a strong cold wind from the north making it even tougher... Happy to be finally arrived in Val d'Isère ....after a long and freezing descente Col du Gran San Bernard..... ....together with the rest of the team, happy to be there at 2473m. of altitude Here it starts the long descente from Col du Gran San Bernard to Lausanne Technical curves all the way down from Col du Gran San Bernard to Lausanne Balancing with my left leg ....in the technical curves from Col du Gran San Bernard to Lausanne Technical curves ....with my friend Stèphane following me!
