Riding a Solar Tilting Trike is a great innovation, very good for just using renewable energy!
Using the AeroTilt velomobile is great fun, even when outside is cold and wet!
Cycling is good for your spirit and your brain....

Few people have asked me to show how the AeroTilt fairing has been fixed to my Raptobike frame.
Here I am going through:
- the design of the fairing in 4 parts
- the exact position where each part is attached to the bike
Finally I also show how the Tilting mechanism can still be accessible (if necessary...) through the fairing .

AeroTilt: how is the fairing designed and attached to the Tilting bike frame?

Being passionate about bikes, technology and renewable energy, I wanted to demonstrate that with a Solar Bike we can accomplish unbelievable things!
So I decided to establish a new world record:
Maximum UPHILL altitude gain, reached in the same day with a SOLAR bike without ANY assistance.
This means:
- without replacing the battery
- without recharging the battery from a wall plug.
The battery is recharged ONLY:
- with solar panels
- with regenerative braking in the descents
So on July the 9th I have established a NEW WORLD RECORD:
8010m. of altitude gain in the same day
I have climbed several times the same mountain pass in the Dolomites in Friuli (in the north of Italy), followed during all the day by a professional drone pilot.

UPHILL WORLD RECORD WITH A SOLAR BIKE, FOLLOWED FROM A DRONE

This tour goes from Osais (Prato Carnico) to Casera Razzo, Sauris, Ampezzo, Ovaro and back.
It is 80km long and 1500m of altitude gain.

Solar bike tours in northern Italy

This is a prototype to demonstrate the use of my Tilting Mechanism on the front fork of a city bike.
"Tilting lock" device is actioned with a lever on the handlebar, which pulls a disk brake blocking the tilting arms.
Stability is increased, with the possibility to put charges in the space between front wheels.
Initial feeling is very good , additional tests are required to improve handling.

Tilting mechanism working also on a city bike!

This Tilting trike is built on a shortened RAPTOBIKE frame.
Overall wheelbase is very close to original 2 wheels bike.
The Customer wanted a shorter trike, easier to ride, more manoeuvrable and handy in narrow roads.
The Tilting mechanism has been joined to the bike frame with:
- 6 layers of carbon fibre
- 4 aluminium rods, using the seat bolts to attach them without any other modification to the frame
The result is very interesting, the Tilting trike is really fun to ride: of course there is no possibility now to reuse it with only one rear wheel...

New Tilting trike "Short Wheel Based"

This is a special project where the installation of my 'standard' Tilting Trike mechanism was not possible due to the compactness and the small size of this frame.
Therefore I had to design and build a Tilting mechanism completely integrated in the frame.
An additional challenge was that the seat is extremely low, so it was not possible to use the area between the seat and the frame.
The installation is very clean, there is no modification necessary on the bike frame.
Lean angle is currently less than 30°, it will be increased to roughly 35°.
